5Buy 4 trials instead of kit!
By misswinters
I was skeptical of these and new to cloth diapering so I ordered this trial to test. Love them! No leaks even at night! They wash well but prefolds take a long time to dry. Anyway, I ordered the kit that costs about $50. It comes with 3 covers and 12 prefolds. It also includes a wet bag. The bag is not even worth having. Four of these trials gives 4 covers instead of 3 and 12 prefolds for less money than the kit. I wish I would have taken that into consideration but at least I can share my advice with you.

5Skeptical.... but L-O-V-E!
By H. Roll
We used bumgenius exclusively for our first child, but towards the end, no amount of stripping was going to get the amonia stink out of them and the hook and loop closures were at their end. I set of this time around searching for a natural fiber insert system which naturally lead me to the prefold/cover way. I much prefer this to the pocket diapers now, though the other's served us well. I like that you can use the same diaper cover generally for more than one prefold, usually about 3. The trial pack is perfect for this. I also did the math and it is cheaper to buy the trial pack w/3 insert over any other way of purchasing econobums. The thing I love most about this diaper is it is no frills. We have a similar diaper made by kissaluvs that I thought I would adore, but they are bulky on infants and the double gusset does nothing on a small child. Econobums, because of it's no frills, streamline, light weight design, it fits an infant much better with way less bulk and will do well on a toddler.

Heads up - if you live in Alaska, like me, buy from Amazon for free shipping. Cotton Babies says its free shipping - even when you order through them. Later to find you get a separate large charge for shipping on your credit card. Not Cool. Amazon honors the free shipping which is great!

5Great every day cloth diaper option!
By N. Van Cleave
I wish I would have started out with these for our every day cloth diaper. This is the fifth Econobum cover I have purchased and brings my Econobum prefold stash up to 15. I did not use these from the start, so I am not sure how I would like them on a newborn as far as sizing goes. I have also used Bummis infant and toddler sized prefolds with the Econobum covers and that works great. These covers are very light and soft. They don't leave red marks on my baby like some of the thicker covers I own, but still don't leak. Matter of fact, I have never had a leak with these covers/prefolds. Just make sure the prefold is completely enclosed in the cover and you will have great luck. I wash the covers with all my other prefolds and all in one's that I own starting with a cold wash, hot wash then medium dry and have used them for months and they are just like brand new. Very impressed with these covers over all, and there isn't any other cover that can beat it price wise.
