1Edited: no longer an "Excellent, safe wipe"
By MrsNash
My review for the original formulation in the green packaging is below. The new formula in the purple packaging is terrible. They smell bad, they're flimsy, and they no longer qualify as safe in my book thanks to the addition of sodium benzoate. In fact, my gcloth-diapered 16-month-old who has never had a diaper rash for a moment in his life suddenly has a permanently red bottom since these new wipes arrived. I have no idea why they would mess with a good thing. Very, very disappointed.

Original review: I'm very picky about what I use on my baby's skin. After trying Seventh Generation and Earth's Best wipes, these are my favorite by far. They're thick and quilted, making it possible to use just one wipe after a dirty diaper instead of the 2-3 I was using with the other brands. They're also not so wet that they leave wet foamy areas on baby's bottom like Earth's Best tend to do. They're biodegradable and even safe to use on baby's hands and face. My only complaint is that there is no rhyme or reason to how they are packaged. Some of them are layered so that the next one pops out for the next use and others come out only on their own. They work best when you use the packaging that they come in - trying to put them in a pop up wipe dispenser is just frustrating thanks to the way they are packaged. I wish Amazon would hurry up and add them to Subscribe & Save.

1Reformulated and now irritating
By Mandy
gWipes have gone the way of 7th Generation, meaning they reformulated their product. After 7th Generation reformulated their baby wipes and the new formula gave my baby diaper rash I went on the hunt for a new natural baby wipe. I ordered several natural baby wipes in single packets from Amazon and gave them a trial. Some caused irritation after the second day and some on the first. I was pleased to find that gWipes did not irritate my daughter so I ordered a case of them from gDiapers. Imagine how surprised I was when I received a completely different product. I immediately contacted customer support and told them they sent me the old formula because according to their website the new formula comes in a green package. I was kindly told that the website is not up to date and that the new wipes come in a purple container and what I had been using was the old formula. I decided to try the new wipes and guess what? they're irritating. In fact I watched my daughter's skin turn red as I wiped, which did not occur in the old formula.

If your baby has sensitive skin this is probably not going to work for you either. One thing I noticed about both of the old formulas is that the second main ingredient after water was glycerin. Both companies have replaced the glycerin with something different and I believe it's the new cleaning agent that's causing the irritation.

2Product Has Changed!
By Sarah Paoli
They used to be 5 Star Amazing. Now they are just ok. They have reformulated everything about them. The cloth, the ingredients, the smell (unscented still has a smell, but this one is not the same pleasant order they used to have). I unknowingly ordered two cases directly from the company of this completely different "field tested and improved" product only to be shock when I opened it and discovered there was nothing similar about it. They did agree to accept a return on them since their site had not yet been updated on the new packaging. The new formulated wipes come in a purple package. I did hang onto one package and tried them out that night. I noticed the next morning that for the first time in my daughter's 5 months she was now developing a diaper rash. I have been using the old gwipes formula for the first five months of her life until this day and she had never had a problem until trying this new formulated gwipe.
